Description Aquarium:

MP scubaline 460 130x60x60

The basin was the end of January an Amazon jungle with scalars, Neons, Sterbais and Bolivian butterfly cichlids.
Because of the considerable maintenance expenses, I decided to move to a care lighter Malawi basin.
So I started 30 years ago with the hunting. Now it was so again back to the roots.

After the clean-up and Umrüstaktionen the new aquarium has been running since 08.02.2013

Aquarium equipment:
Lighting:
1 LED bar (1125 mm) with RGB / cool white IP68 27W Lum-Light with daylight simulator program 2

1 LED bar (940 mm) with blue / cool white 27W IP68 Rock Zolid Germany (inactive)

1 Moonlight LED 2x2,4 W spot of hunting Genial (dimmable)

The LED strips are assembled on 15mm aluminum profiles and fully potted. The aluminum profile functions as a heat sink. For me, the aluminum profiles after 10 hours of operation are at most lukewarm. The 2 meter power cable AC adapter can be comfortably accommodated in the cabinet. As support for the old strips I have PVC pipes from the electrical installation used in the construction market. The PVC pipes have the same diameter as the T5 tubes of scubaline cover.
The new bar I will fix it with silicone and cable ties to the PVC pipes. The Lumlight LED strip could be supplied by Adapter and max. 15 cm extendable end angle rails easily fit into the lid. In the center are the lights-carrier on the cross member, therefore, an additional heat dissipation.

Lighting time:

LED: Program 2 of daylight simulator with a total of 13 hours (100% only max 4 h illuminated.): The clock is in each case at the time of the fish.
5:00 a.m. to 06:00 light morning light, dawn
6:00 a.m. to 07:00 Sunrise
7:00 to 08:00 Slow transition to daylight
08:00 to 12:00 Full daylight
12:00 to 14:00 lunch break light
2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. long Sammer transition to daylight
14:30 to 18:30 Full daylight
18:40 to 20:00 sunset, sunset
8:00 p.m. to 05:00 night without lighting

Separate moonlight: 22.00 - 00.00 Clock

At the moment only the Lum-Light running with daylight 2 program including lunch. The clock of the TSL was presented by two hours compared to the real-time, so that the program actually starts running until 7:00 clock CEST.

The perches must have gotten used to the daily routine and the light colors and have become almost tame, if you stand in front of the pool.

In the moonlight phase on lumlight I renounce, because even the guru says, the fish need a regulated dark phase. So it left between 00.00 und 07.00 clock stockduster in the aquarium.

Down among the technology pictures can be seen a few light live recordings.
Filtration:
Fluval FX6 with approximately 2300l / h throughput for aquaria up to 1500l stocked with Dennerle filter chip, shell, foam mats and filter wool fine.
The power is adjusted by means of shut-off valves to 100%. The filter calibrates itself once daily.

The oxygen is supplied by the Eheim Power diffuser for 2078 (16 / 22mm connectors). The efficiency can be adjusted by means of the valve and is mE at 100%. I just put him on the second slice of Fluval FX6. Until now holds with the 22mm hose adapter. However, one must remove the valve on the air hose, because the diffuser is actually designed for filters to 600l / h. Otherwise, the Fluval V-nozzle does not bring enough air.

Hot Tip: In order for the Fluval FX6 does not become a pesky duration Brummer in scubaline furniture, I asked him to 3cm thick styrofoam. A noisy night was enough for me. The use of noise and vibration absorbing lower plate is imperative in this filter, if it is to be operated on located in a residential area pool. The insulation board of FX6 now also meets the advertised "whisper-quiet" operation. He is now subjectively slightly louder than the previously used 2078 maximum level - and with three times the power!

Powerheads: 2 Sicce Voyager 2 max. 1300l / h.
The pump against the back wall is throttled by means of discharge knob at 50% flow, the pump behind the rear wall runs unthrottled with full throughput.
A pump has simply exposed during operation. It is simply no longer recognized by the WaveSurfer.
Here is currently running a Request for Sicce Zoo Zajac. Temporarily therefore a hydor Koralia Evolution 4400 latest generation doing its job behind the rear wall.

The pump pulses are controlled 50-50%.

Flow control:
Sicce WaveSurfer with feeding pause and night mode (only one pump behind the rear wall is driven)

Water flows through a 1 cm wide gap side of the back wall and a. In addition, in the rear wall four hole grid are embedded.
Other equipment:
Heating:
Eheim Jäger 300W controlled by the water heater Connecting the Dennerle Duomat Digital Comfort set are 25.5 degrees

Stocking:
After the first few weeks just equal animals from Kölle Zoo were used, after a few weeks the first rough fellows were (firefish and EUREKA) be replaced because of the increasingly increased aggression potential by juveniles from the various sources mentioned above. My thanks go to my family shop and especially the Herbert von Stark hunting. Meanwhile, the ruffians have already found new floating spaces. Currently provides the (now relatively peaceful) stocking like this:

2.5 Aulonocara stuartgranti Chilumba
1.2 Aulonocara Fire Fish
2.3 Aulonocara baenschi Benga F1 (4-8 cm)
2.4 Aulonocara stuartgranti maleri (4-8 cm)
1.1 Aulonocara Red Rubin (4 cm tall, own offspring)
5 juveniles Synodontis Lucipinnis
2.4 Labidochromis caeruleus kakusa

40 Neritina spec, Sun Snail (as Putzkolonne for modules and backplane, as these were not additionally painted; even if they do not fit geographically, but the benefits do not outweigh by far on)..

And yes, some will say again now that Ruby does not fit in there (where you have the edge with the length actually come from?), But as long as I like the fish and me and goes well, I'll leave it like that. That has not changed until today. No bite, no rushing in the corner, just like each other harshly threaten times or delimit area. Actually, the females make almost more controversy than the men. Perilous's will for no perch. In addition, many residents have grown up together and a close community. Although newcomers are hunted only violently from stem stocking, usually after two nights you have then but whether the many RockZolid then arranges modules without losses.

For potential young I have now found a second smaller pool next to it.
