Mbunas World
Description of the aquarium:
Category:
Lake Malawi
Tank size:
150x60x60 = 540 liters ~ 142 gallons (us)
Specific features:
After a fan of Malawi and in particular Mbunas I am a long time now I have ventured on my first Malawi basin. And tried all as good as mine implement possible.
The pool is a standard pool 10mm white glass Shock and bulge-glued.
The cover is a standard black cover with T5 lighting.
The foundation I built from Ytong, however, is not yet fully completed.
The pool serves as a room divider between living room and kitchen. Is through the back wall from the living room but only understood, I've decided since I spend most of the time anyway in the lounge and the pool lies make much more beautiful through the back wall. Likewise, I could in this way almost hide the complete technology!
Since I had had the rear wall inclined slightly more than originally thought or I have the problem that I can not fill up completely under the lid the bowl as I otherwise the water runs over the backplane. The plan is now to either put the lid slightly to edit and it deeper or to put a strip foil to the water edge no longer visible above the edge.

Aquarium decoration:
Gravel:
As ground Beige and Black sand in the grain 0,4-0,8mm were chosen and the ratio of 2: 1. In the basin there are about 50kg sand and about 500g-1k gross gravel around the entire something natural to have effect.
The sand and the stone constructions were mounted on a 20mm Styrofoam plate.
For the stone constructions I have chosen about 100-150kg limestone quarry (bluestone).
Plants:
Planting basin without!
Special features of the facility:
Rear wall of Stone Age Design - Rock II with 2 flow grids completely glued.
The rear wall was to be able to attach up slightly tilted forward to the pump and to create space for a trouble free cleaning Matt. However, this does not fall on continue.

Aquarium equipment:
Lighting:
2x Suna Eco 500 Reef White controlled depending 49cm long from the Suna Eco Control.

The consumption, 12 watts per lamp, about 50 000 operating hours when used 12 hours täglich.Bei dimming reduces the consumption accordingly further.

(Sun Squiggle effects) draw from this particularly.

Pro lightbar:
3 white LED ca.14K and 2 blue LED> 50K

Sunrise: 11:00 - 11-30 (0-16%)
Sunset 22:30 to 11:00 p.m. (16-0%)

-Planned is yet to erziehlen Lumlight to better lighting effects!
Filtration:
As filter HMF mats were installed behind the rear panel with an appropriate pump (Resun Powerhead 3800 2000l / h), the filter surface ~ 35000cm3 (calculated from the installed mats). The rear wall was completely stuffed around on 100x55cmx3-15cm.
As a prefilter, an internal filter used also with 2000l / h (to the majority of Mulms field) and filter wool that has been placed in front of the mats. Thus is taken care of before and behind the rear wall of Neat movement.

The inner filter and the attached filter wool should increase the service life considerably.
