Description of the aquarium:
Category:
North America
Tank size:
100x40x50 = 200 liters ~ 52 gallons (us)
Specific features:
My new project is again a Paludarium, but it goes this time to North America or in the south-east of North America.
I put still in the planning stage, in this case the data is continually updated / changed.
The main actors are time Notropis chrosomus which to Tennesse have their natural origin in the region of Alabama, Georgia. Because they are there home also in partly flat, clear mountain streams, it makes sense to maintain the water level in the basin is slightly lower. They are not cold-water fish in the sense that they absolutely need cold water, because they are from temperate climates and get along well with fairly large fluctuations in temperature, that is, warm summers and cool winters pose no problems for them.

Here I would like to try a piece of nature for these jewels prepare as they are used to in their home.

Equipment:

Basket middle: Bio rings (plastic)

Basket below: Eheim Bio mech

the filter is running at full capacity, which is by no means too much, the water surface movement is adjusted so that approximately 2/3 of the surface have good flow, the last third is quasi the quiet zone.
Other equipment:
Exo Terra Monsoon sprinkler RS 400 (for the emergent vegetation)

This is a high-pressure irrigation system, equipped with two spray nozzles, this can be expanded using an adapter to 6 nozzles (I use currently two).

The system can be programmed and has a large 9.5 Litre reservoir, which is filled with distilled water.

This system offers many options. Firstly, you can set an "on cycle", ie, how often to address the investment within 24h.
(Running at the time running the system every 2 hours for each ca 12-15 seconds so there is within 24 hours from time to time a little shiver..)

Experience has shown that the plant very well cope with it, it grows all very good, especially the Ficus are properly gas, it forms a strong root system, so that I may soon have to Shorten these times.

Also in consideration is to expand the irrigation nozzles 4 pieces is because seen on the basin-length, cover 2 nozzles of course, not everything from, well let's see.

the actual duration of the rain / spray is also adjustable (currently for 12-15 seconds).

This high pressure system guarantees a really very fine drizzle.
